Well, a 14-year-old has set a new world record for the fastest time to solve
a Rubik¡¯s Cube. And solving it in under 5 seconds for the first time ever.
You saw there the time, 4.9 seconds. Lucas Etter bested the previous record
of 5.09 seconds, which believe it or not, had been set earlier that day. And
this is part of a trend. This chart shows how the solve times have gotten
actually faster over the years. The first record was set in 1982 at just under
23 seconds.
